A a Marine Biologist and Fisheries Scientist, now living in the lakelands of Cavan, I am privledged to be surrounded by natures wonders every day. Cavan, the ‘County of 365 lakes’ has as its neighbours, the lake counties of Leitrim and Fermanagh. It has a wealth of natural habitats and ecosystems to enjoy and explore. These range from the majestic Cuilcagh mountain uplands, to the lakes, bogs and streams of the lowlands.
